Georgia Optimist Charity Classic at East Lake Golf Club – Postponed for now.
The Georgia Optimists are asking for your help and support for a special golf tournament fund raiser we are having on May 13, 2013 at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. Fifty percent of our net proceeds are going to be given to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for them to continue their support of the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center for children located in their facility. The Georgia District of Optimist International wishes to raise further awareness of this dreadful disease to utilize the funds here in Georgia to help children who have cancer. The rest of the net proceeds will be used to allow the Georgia District to continue our programs.
Please review the “Sponsorship Participation” information which describes the various levels of sponsorship available to your company; complete the commitment form, and mail it at your earliest convenience. We have corporation/company levels which include golf teams for you and your guests to experience golf at East Lake like the pros. As a sponsor, your company’s name will be prominently displayed at this exciting golf tournament at East Lake Golf Club.

Clubs: We still need your help.
Here is what we need for you to do:
1. Consider having your own club “sponsor” a Tee Marker (2 per hole) or even a Pin Flag. Your club’s name will be on these with the Optimist logo.
$150 for one (1) Tee Marker
$250 for two (2) Tee Marker
$500 for one (1) Pin Flag
2. Find companies/corporations that can be contacted for sponsorships for our golf tournament. Contact them and present the tournament information (preferably in person), then follow up for a commitment/check from that company. (This works well if you know someone personally with that company.) Some suggested companies are your local insurance agencies, banks, attorney practices, etc. and basically any company that would like the opportunity to play golf at East Lake Golf Club.
3. If you or any of your members have a company that you would prefer us to contact then please provide us with the name, address, phone number and email address. We, the Golf Tournament Committee, will make the contact.

The tour will begin with a ferry ride from the hotel and a short walk to the Market. Participants will enjoy a stroll through the market’s shaded courtyard, surrounded by bistros, shops, and art galleries while being serenaded by local musicians. At 12:00 noon everyone will gather at historic Belford’s Savannah for lunch and experience some of the south’s finest cuisine.
