Honors a GATEway Optimist who has:

• demonstrated good and effective leadership at the level of District Governor or Distinguished Club President or Lt Governor,
• served with honor and distinction for at least 10-years, and
• demonstrated personal demeanor in keeping with the philosophy of Optimist International and the GATEway District.

One letter states, this candidate has served in a “plethora of positions throughout the 10-plus years I have known them; has never hesitated to offer advice and answer questions that I might have, and has served as a mentor, friend and advisor to me.”

Their involvement in our organization dates back to a different time in our District’s history, through organizational changes, as well as life changes, it is remarkable that they never lost their interest or excitement for the things that our members and our Clubs can accomplish in our communities if we work together. “
