HOF – Rodney Hogue

Honors a GATEway Optimist who has:

  • demonstrated good and effective leadership at the level of District Governor or Distinguished Club President or Lt Governor,
  • served with honor and distinction for at least 10-years, and
  • demonstrated personal demeanor in keeping with the philosophy of Optimist International and the GATEway District.

Here are just a few words reflecting this year’s inductee:

He has been an active member of our Club for sixty (60) years. During that period, he has been an active and dedicated worker. In the early 1970’s, he led fellow Club members in starting three (3) Optimist Clubs in the greater Atlanta area. He has continued throughout his membership to participate in all Club activities and fund-raising projects. This has included being the cook for our annual pancake breakfast. His leadership, wisdom, and guidance has been an asset to our Clubs and to other Clubs in this area. His energy has inspired many of our members and his experience is a valuable asset which we continue to call upon. He has also had perfect attendance every year since he joined in 1962.

Additionally:

He exemplifies the Optimist Creed and has been the standard bearer for the past 60 years. As president of our Club, I do not hesitate to recommend him for the Gateway District Hall of Fame.

Congratulations!
