PURPOSE: To facilitate District communication both upward and downward regarding training, potential leadership identification and member development. To coordinate with the Governor and other District Chairs to ensure that members are receiving the training required to obtain desired objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities: • To Identify and promote future leaders and future trainers. • To Communicate with the Optimist International Leadership Development Committee, (OI LDC) the Certified Trainers Verification Committee, the District and Club Leadership. • To Promote the use of the Learning Management System. (LMS) • To plan and promote follow up training of the LMS, at District Meetings/Conventions for Officers of New Clubs, Incoming Club Officers, New Club members & Lieutenant Governors Elect. • To Create and promote additional training opportunities for all members utilizing available methods of communication. (District Bulletin, Email, District website, or any other method that is available). • To Promote and facilitate the participation and use of the Certified Trainers program. • To Promote and encourage the participation in the Professional Development Program (PDP) and the Personal Growth and Involvement Program (PGI) and provide opportunities for training. • To Work with the District Candidates Qualification Committee to identify qualified leaders. • To Coordinate training, including recommended OI material, at: District meetings, Zone meetings, New Clubs & Clubs identified by Club Fitness as requiring additional attention • To Collaborate with the Club Building, Membership & club Services chairs/committees.
GATEway District Optimist Training Opportunities:
- GATEway District Optimists quarterly conferences.
- Training Tuesday-The second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 8:00 pm via Zoom.
